Austinites: Come to Refresh Austin this Tuesday, 7pm, at Buffalo Billiards. For those unfamiliar with Refresh Austin, it’s a community of designer/developers that meet once a month to discuss and share creative ideas. Mattt Thompson, my talented co-worker and friend, is speaking this month on Achievement Systems on the Social Web. I’m looking forward to the talk. He’s a sharp guy, and excellent presenter.

Walked into a breakdancing party going down a block from my apartment.
I’ve started collecting the bottle caps from Sweet Leaf Tea. Each cap has a numbered “Grannyism” which is a phrase or nugget of wisdom. I’m curious how many unique caps exist. If you drink this tasty beverage, save the caps and add them to the collection!

We started rolling out a new Gowalla feature today: Passport customization. Visit Settings>Design on the website to tweak the colors and background image. There are also a handful of pre-built themes that Marstall, Drew, and I designed. Looking forward to seeing how people personalize their passports. Some of my favorites so far:

Completely forgot about this website! We built it during the Firewheel days, but it never really took off. You could create the icon in Mario Kart, and it would show on the hood of your cart as you raced.
